Patient Update
We would like to let our patients know that Dr Shelley Percival will be retiring from Clyde Valley Dental Practice, and will be leaving the practice in October.
Shelley has been an important part of the practice. We would like to thank her for her care and commitment to our patients over the years. We wish her all the very best for her retirement.
Our new practice principal dentist is Dr Paula O’Hanlon, who has been a long-term associate within this practice.
Please be reassured that all Shelley’s patients will continue to be registered with our practice. Your dental records and ongoing care arrangements will continue to be managed within the practice.

The end of an era…
20 years of Clyde Valley Dental Practice ❤️
After 20 years, the time has come for me to say goodbye to Clyde Valley Dental Practice. Back in 2006, I took a little one-bedroom cottage and turned it into what would become Clyde Valley Dental Practice. I started with just one dental surgery, expanded to three in 2007 and added a fourth in 2008.
What started as a vision grew into a thriving business, and when I sold it in April this year, there were 17 fantastic members of staff and over 10,000 patients.
One of the things I'll treasure most from the past 20 years is the people I've met along the way. I've had the privilege of caring for so many lovely patients, many of whom have been with me from the very beginning and have become friends over the years. I've shared stories, laughter and life's ups and downs with so many of you, and that's something I'll always value. Thank you for the trust, loyalty and friendship you've shown me.
To have established, owned and run the business from 2006 to 2026 is something I'm incredibly proud of. There have been plenty of challenges, lots of hard work, countless laughs and so many wonderful memories along the way. I've been fortunate to have my practice manager, Debbie Ashe, by my side from the very beginning, sharing the journey through all its highs and lows.
Alongside running the business, I've also had the privilege of holding senior leadership roles within NHS Lanarkshire, as Clinical Director of General Dental Services from 2020 to 2025 and Director of Dentistry from 2022 to 2025. It's certainly been a busy few years!
To all the wonderful colleagues I've worked with over the years, thank you for the friendships, laughter, support and memories. So many of you have become much more than colleagues. I'm leaving with so many happy memories, lifelong friendships and a huge sense of pride in what I've achieved over the past two decades.
20 years, one little cottage, four surgeries and over 10,000 patients later… what a journey!
