Dr Derek Hughes

Derek is known for his calm, relaxing and friendly manner with patients. He has a keen interest in restorative dentistry and enjoys restoring smiles to their natural appearance by replacing old restorations with the aesthetic and stronger modern ones we offer here at Clyde Valley Dental Practice. 

Derek is always looking to further his learning and ensures he keeps all his dental knowledge up to date. He sat exams in Stirling and Leeds to pass his MJDF examinations which means he is a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons England (MJDF RCS Eng). He has also been invited to examine other dentists who are looking to complete these post graduate examinations with the West of Scotland MJDF group.

In addition to this Derek is a Certified Invisalign Provider which means he can straighten teeth quickly and discreetly using this state of the art Orthodontic system.

In his spare time Derek enjoys football. Following his team when he isn’t busy looking after his two young children!
